Detailed Description:
Zinc selenide, with CAS number 1315-09-9 and molecular formula ZnSe, has a molecular weight of 144.369. This yellow cubic crystal exhibits rapid reddening upon light exposure. It is toxic and odorless, requiring caution against oxides, moisture, air, and acids. Insoluble in water, ZnSe decomposes with prolonged exposure to air.
